In the News: “Acclaimed anti-bullying programme to be trialled in New Zealand”

Challenge Day is in the news! We are delighted that our acclaimed signature program centered on five tested competency areas: self-management, social awareness, self-awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making, will be offered at the Nelson School in New Zealand as a pilot program.

It is an especially significant opportunity for us given that New Zealand had the second-highest school bullying rate in the OECD in 2019, following Belgium, according to the OECD report.

Our founder, Yvonne St John-Dutra, shares how her personal experiences with bullying as a child inspired her and her husband, Rich St. John Dutra, to create Challenge Day. Our mission is to help youth confront bullying by relating to each other with empathy and compassion.
“One time my class was walking to the library, and one of the girls said, ‘Hey, you wanna watch the fat girl roll?’, and she threw me down the hill off the side of the path through the mud.”
